1. Waiheke Resident Fares are only available to SeaLink Waiheke Resident Membership Card holders. 

2. Residents may be asked to produce their SeaLink Waiheke Resident Membership Card at the time of travel and, if this is not produced, will be required to upgrade to a standard fare prior to travel.
 
3. Travel may be booked as a one-way trip and is not restricted to a return journey booking. Travel can originate from any SeaLink terminal: i.e., Half Moon Bay, Hamer Street or Kennedy Point.
 
4. Waiheke Resident fares can be booked online, at SeaLink ticket offices or through the SeaLink call centre on 09 300 5900 without any extra service fee.
 
5. Waiheke Resident fares cannot be used for commercial purposes, and accordingly, cannot be purchased on a credit or cash account, nor can they be purchased under a company name.
 
6. Waiheke Resident fares may not be used with any other offer.

7. The Waiheke Resident Car & Driver Fare applies only to a car, ute or van up to 5.9 metres in length and cannot be used for a truck, trailer, campervan or commercial vehicles of any length.
Additional meterage will be charged for standard vehicle overhangs greater than 5.5 metres.
 
8. The Waiheke Resident Motorbike & Rider Fare may be booked as a one-way trip and is not restricted to a return journey booking. 
 
9. Non-residents travelling with Waiheke Residents are not entitled to Waiheke Resident fares and must pay standard fares.
 
10. Open ended bookings are not permitted. The purchase of credit for future travel is not permitted.
 
11. SeaLink Standby Process for Waiheke Residents: 
  • If the vessel is full and you do not have a ticket for this sailing, you will join the standby queue and board the sailing only if a space opens up and at the Skipper’s and Customer Care team's discretion. A space can only be confirmed 15 minutes prior to departure.
  • If a vessel has space, and you do not have a ticket for that next sailing, you book with our customer care team as usual at the ticket office.
  • If you already have a ticket for a later sailing and want to board an earlier sailing where there is space, you must produce a valid SeaLink Waiheke Resident Membership Card to avoid the change fee.

12. Changes to a booking can be made online without any additional cost. Any changes made through a SeaLink ticket office or the SeaLink call centre will incur change fee, plus the cost of any applicable upgrade to a standard or higher value fare.
 
13. If any Waiheke Residents fares booking is cancelled not less than one hour prior to the booked sailing time the fare can be held in credit, less a $20 administration fee, for future travel (valid up to a maximum of 6 months).  Cancellations after that time will result in the full fare being charged.  A SeaLink Waiheke Resident Card Holder can only be issued with a maximum of two credits per calendar month, after which, any cancellations will be refunded as per clause 2.4 (Cancellation for passengers and / or vehicles up to 5.9 metres in length) of SeaLink’s general terms and conditions. Clause 2.10 (Making changes to your bookings during Covid-19 restrictions) of SeaLink’s general terms and conditions will continue to apply.   
 
14. If any Waiheke Resident fares terms and conditions are breached by the customer, SeaLink reserves the right to cancel the booking or require the customer to pay the standard return fare. If any Waiheke Resident fares terms and conditions are breached by the customer more than once, SeaLink reserves the right to deny the purchase of any Waiheke Resident fares by the customer (and any other fares generally available exclusively to Waiheke Island residents) and require that any future fares are purchased at standard rates.
Waiheke Resident Commercial Fares

If you are a Registered SeaLink Resident Commercial Customer, travel to Waiheke Island can be booked as one-way trip. Journey is no longer restricted to return bookings!

This also means there will no longer be a $10 additional day surcharge.
Travel can originate from any of our terminals: i.e., Half Moon Bay, Hamer Street, or Kennedy Point.

1. Waiheke Residents Commercial fares are only available to registered Waiheke Resident Commercial Customers.

2. Waiheke Island commercial businesses will need to submit proof of commercial residency online or at a SeaLink ticket office, along with a list of the names of their drivers who will be travelling under Waiheke Residents Commercial Fare conditions.

3. Travel is available as a one-way trip and is not restricted to a return journey booking and can originate from any SeaLink terminal. i.e., Half Moon Bay, Hamer Street or Kennedy Point.

4. Open ended bookings are not permitted. 

5. The Waiheke Residents COMM Car & Driver Fare applies only to a car, van, ute or light truck up to 5.9 metres in length and cannot be used for a campervan of any length. Prior registration as a Waiheke Island commercial business is required. Proof of identity of the driver may be required at time of booking or at check-in.

6. Standard truck fares apply for vehicles longer than 5.9 metres. Waiheke Residents (Commercial Vehicle) Deal fares may not be used with any other offer.

7. Fares must be booked through a SeaLink ticket office or through SeaLink’s call centre on 09 300 5900.

If any Waiheke Resident Commercial Fare terms and conditions are breached by the customer, SeaLink reserves the right to deny the purchase of Waiheke Resident Commercial Fare to the customer (and any other fares generally available exclusively to Waiheke Island residents) and require that any future travel is purchased at standard fares.

Checking in

All passengers and vehicles travelling to/from Waiheke Island should check-in 30 minutes prior to departure. To get everyone loaded and ensure the ferry departs on time, we can’t guarantee passage if you’re running late.

Parking

If you’re travelling as a foot passenger, there’s limited parking available at the public carpark on Donald Bruce Road. It’s ‘first in, first served’, so it’s best to get there early. Check signs for time restrictions when parking as times do vary. 

Public transport connections

Auckland Transport (AT) public transport buses stop at the Half Moon Bay Terminal and connect to Botany Town Centre, Gossamer Drive, Burswood, Howick, Middlemore, Otara and Highbrook.

Purchasing or renewing a monthly pass

To purchase a monthly pass, come down to our Kennedy Point office where you’ll be issued with a temporary pass to travel until you can get your photo taken at our Half Moon Bay office. All monthly passes are issued with your photo identification printed on them.

Each month, you can renew your pass by popping into either Kennedy Point or Half Moon Bay office to purchase your next month’s travel.

Gold AT HOP Cardholders

With a Gold AT HOP card you, can travel on SeaLink Waiheke Island services for free^, as long as you are not the driver of a vehicle. ^More information on our senior travel page.
