Experienced High-Speed Ferry Skippers (Based at Pine Harbour)
Our fleet of commuter high speed catamarans cover the route between Pine Harbour and Auckland CBD in a little over 30 minutes, 20 times a day, as well as private charters around the Hauraki Gulf. We are seeking motivated and highly skilled skippers to join our close-knit team based at Pine Harbour Marina in Beachlands.
Key accountabilities include:
- Conducting pre and post-sailing safety checks.
- Ensuring ferry compliance as per internal operational requirements, MR Part 19 (MOSS) and HSAW 2015.
- Operating vessels with a focus on passenger, crew and vessel safety
- Providing crew supervision and training as required
- Timely completion of administrative tasks including timely and accurate reporting
- Maintaining schedules as per the timetable
- Proactively ensuring the vessel achieves full operational capability every day
To be successful in the role you will need to have the following qualifications, experience and experience:
- Minimum qualification of a CLM, ILM (Ringfenced) or SRL (Passenger endorsed) certificate - a high-speed endorsement is preferred
- A proven record of marine experience – Hamilton Jet Unit experience is desirable
- Be able to work under pressure, autonomously and as part of a team
- Effective and professional interpersonal skills
- Able to demonstrate a positive, solutions focused and customer centric approach

Hours of work cover the Monday to Friday Pine Harbour service with shifts starting between 5.30am and 7am and finishing between 7.00pm and 8.30pm. Rosters can be 12 hour days or split shifts. Weekend charter work will be required from time to time.

Cafe/Bar - Fixed Term (1-3 months, 20-55 hours per week)
SeaLink Travel Group is dedicated to the operation of a quality service through our fleet of ferries on the Hauraki Gulf, transporting passengers, cars and freight to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands, as well as a commuter service from Pine Harbour.
Based at either our Half Moon Bay or Wynyard Wharf offices we are seeking energetic and motivated people to assist with our peak season by delivering a high level of customer service and sales in our onboard café/bars.
Key accountabilities include:
- Stocking and selling food and beverage items
- Cash handling including reconciliation and cash balance
- Stocking brochure racks
- General cleaning
- Assisting with securing the vessel
- Assisting with loading and unloading passengers and vehicles
To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, knowledge and qualities:
- High level of customer service experience
- Professional, positive ‘can do’ attitude and highly self motivated
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility to work varying hours and days of the week
- New Zealand residency, work permit or working holiday visa
- Drivers license (Restricted or Full)

The positions are based on a 7-day flexible roster including public holidays. Shifts vary in duration depending on the day of the week and peak holiday times from Monday to Friday 6.00am – 6.00pm (8.00pm at peak periods) and Weekends 7.00am – 8.00pm.

High Speed Ferry Deckhands

Due to some internal movements, full-time permanent Deckhand opportunities have become available in our close-knit team based at Pine Harbour Marina in Beachlands.
These roles are responsible for ensuring all passengers are ticketed and boarded safely and for achieving a high level of customer care and safety.
Key accountabilities include:
- Conducting pre and post-sailing safety checks
- Safety announcements
- Watch keeping and trip reports
- Ropework and cleaning duties
- Ticket purchasing and cash handling
To be successful in the role you will need to have the following experience and abilities:
- Sea time experience (preferred)
- Customer service experience
- Professional, positive ‘can do’ attitude and highly self-motivated
- Flexibility with work hours and role requirements
- Drivers’ license (Restricted or Full)
We currently provide a Monday to Friday service with shifts starting between 5.30am and 7am and finishing between 7.00pm and midnight (Fridays only). Rosters can be 12 hour days or split shifts, so this position would ideally be suited to those living in Beachlands, Mararetai or Whitford. Weekend charter work will also be required from time to time.

FreightLink - CLASS 4 Drivers
Based in East Tamaki FreightLink is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island 8 times per day, 7 days a week. FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services. These aren’t your mundane transport runs. The routes we have will see you head over to the popular holiday spot of Waiheke Island on a regular basis.
Key accountabilities include:
- Driving a range of units from Class 2 to 5
- Auckland metro pickups and Waiheke deliveries
- Reversing onto vessels
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers
- Navigating narrow roads and confined areas
- Vehicle loading and unloading
To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years Class 4 driving experience
- Good knowledge of Auckland Metro
- Dangerous Goods and forklift endorsement
- Physically fit
- Clean record, good communication skills, presentable and a team player

Hours of work are based on a minimum of 40 hours per week, there is a requirement to work additional hours during peak times, including summer. Start times can vary from 1am to 6am, Monday to Friday, with finish times varying from 1pm to 6pm dependent on the freight run.
